Hungary hosted the SET Plan Conference as part of the European Council Presidency. The meeting to discuss the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) of the European Union was hosted by the Várkert Bazaar on 14-15 November 2024.
The aim of the conference was to explore the potential of innovative energy technologies in the green transition, bringing together relevant national and European companies, experts, national and EU actors. The Eszterházy Károly Catholic University was represented by the Secretariat of the Coal Region Committee as an expert.
The programme included a number of thematic sessions and high-level panel discussions on innovative technologies for commercialisation, industrial decarbonisation, geothermal energy, energy storage, hydrogen and skills. The conference was opened by high-level speakers from the European Commission and the Department of Energy.
The conference was organised in the framework of the LIFE IP North-HU-Trans project.
