The head of the Coal Commission Secretariat represented our university at the International Forum "Opportunities for a Just Transition Beyond Borders" in Bulgaria. The event took place in the framework of a project aimed at giving greater visibility to the European Union's cohesion policy, the Just Transition Fund and the European Economic Recovery Plan.
The Forum provided an update on the economic development of Bulgaria’s three coal regions – Pernik, Stara Zagora and Kyustendil – and their potential. The event was attended by leading experts, representatives of EU institutions, local authorities and business leaders from Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
In a panel discussion, the Head of the Secretariat of the Coal Region Committee presented the process of the Just Transition in Hungary, the main points of the Territorial Just Transition Plans and the current status of the implementation of the transition.
