The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual 4-day event during which cities and regions showcase their ability to grow and create jobs sustainably, implement EU cohesion policy and demonstrate the importance of the local and regional level.
Dr. Zsuzsa Piskóti-Kovács, member of the Secretariat, represented the North Hungarian coal region in a panel discussion on the topic “A just transition through cooperation – key elements of the EU exchange programme for coal-producing regions”. The aim of the session was to share experiences and good practices from the exchange programme in Zasavje, Slovenia. The panel discussion was opened by a national expert on secondment from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and was attended by a representative of the Velenje coal region in Slovenia.
The conference was organised in the framework of the LIFE IP North-HU-Trans project.
