Topics discussed at the conference included fighting poverty, monitoring project implementation, energy communities, skills for a green future and engaging young people in the transition. Our University was represented at the event by Zsuzsa Piskóti-Kovács PhD, Head of the Coal Commission Secretariat.
Speakers at the conference included Elisa Ferreira, Commissioner for Cohesion and Reform, Kadri Simson, Commissioner for Energy, Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Employment and Social Rights, Themis Christophidou, Director General for Regional and Urban Policy, and Zakia Khattabi, Belgian Minister for Climate, Environment, Sustainable Development and the Green Deal.
In conjunction with the conference, the inaugural meeting of the Platform’s Stakeholder Engagement Working Group was held in the Commission’s MERO building: the Working Group is composed of 23 first-tier member organisations, with our University being the only Hungarian organisation participating in the Working Group.
The study tour was carried out in the framework of the LIFE IP North-HU-Trans project.
